Effective and universal processing tailored to Industry 4.0
Instant nesting, excellent precision, low operating costs and energy savings. These are just a few of the features that distinguish the SERON series of Fiber Cut machines. These cutting machines are designed for quick, accurate cutting of elements from various types of sheet metal. Such a machine has been used at Usługi i Handel Grzegorz Sikorski for two years.
What does your company do? How long have you been operating? What projects do you most often carry out?
The company was established in 1995. We provide service and assembly services. We specialize in the production of various types of conveyors (roller, belt, modular, plate, mesh, etc.).
Why did you decide to purchase the Fiber Cut cutting machine?
The purchase of the cutting machine was dictated by the desire to develop the company and become independent from subcontractors. We purchased this type of laser, among other things, because of its price. Its power is sufficient for our needs, although a stronger one would probably be more universal
How do you assess the offer of this type of machines on the Polish market? Is there a lot to choose from?
The choice of cutting machines is quite large, but in my case the quality and price, as well as efficient service, were decisive. The fact that it is a Polish manufacturer is also important to us.
Before purchasing, was there an opportunity to see how the machine works (e.g. at a fair or at the company’s headquarters)?
Before purchasing, we had the opportunity to see the machine, its parameters and the operation of the laser itself were presented to us.
How long did the whole process take: from the moment of making the decision to installing the machine?
The waiting period for the installation of the burner with us is only time to complete all leasing formalities. This process took about 4 weeks. The machine itself was installed practically in one day. On the second day, employee training took place.
Is the machine used all the time? How do you rate your work there?
We bought the machine two years ago and since then it has been working 5-6 days a week. Elements made of K.O. steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass and copper are processed.
According to the operators, the cutter is easy to use and they are satisfied with working with it.
You mentioned that the purchase of the cutting machine was dictated by the desire to become independent from subcontractors. Did it work?
Yes, but since the Fiber Cut cutting machine was installed in our company, our work has accelerated. The number of orders also increased slightly.
Does this also result in savings?
As for savings, we have never calculated it, but I think that, conservatively, the net profit is about 60 thousand per year. This means that we no longer outsource processing.
Was it necessary to hire new employees to operate this cutting machine?
Yes, I hired one employee just to operate the laser.
Were there any failures during these two years of use?
There was only one ball screw failure, but this was quickly rectified. The machine itself is subjected to regular periodic inspections to avoid any breakdowns.
